PROGRAMMING

Our programs are carefully designed around our M4 Programming and the principles of movement, motivation, music, and metrics. Instructors bring our programs to life and are the heart and soul of the group fitness experience.

MUSIC

MOSSA Music is the key to unlocking the group fitness experience. With chart-topping hits from every decade, it’s custom engineered to drive the experience. With emotive and heart-pounding playlists, it is the score that underscores our commitment to the movement and music connection.

TRAINING

Our trainings are educational and energizing. In addition to the basics of learning programming and proper execution, our trainings cover the essentials of movement, music, and motivation. Instructors learn strategies for connecting with members, coaching to all fitness levels, and creating an amazing experience for members.

EDUCATION

We are life-long learners and believe the most inspiring and impactful instructors share that core value. Each quarter we provide education to help instructors become better movers, better motivators, better coaches, and more meaningful connectors.

QUARTERLY PROGRAM RELEASES

Each quarterly program release contains the workout video, music, program notes, and education. These resources are delivered digitally through our platform MOSSA GO. Instructors who are actively teaching the program are required to be enrolled in Autoship. This ensures that all instructors who are actively teaching have access to the workout and education materials each quarter. Instructors may cancel their Autoship enrollment and re-enroll at any time. Instructors who are not enrolled in Autoship will have an ‘inactive’ status and will not be eligible to teach during that time.

MOSSA MUSIC MAGIC

The music for our workouts is custom engineered and sound designed for the experience. It drives the movements and helps motivate participants. It literally sets to tone for the workout. From editing, to remixing, to creating mashups and reproducing collaborations, to editing lyrics and adding sound effects, the art of sound design is one we take quite seriously.

MOSSA MUSIC GUARANTEE

The MOSSA Music Guarantee promises that all songs have been thoroughly evaluated to be appropriate for general audiences. Combined with the Testing Phase of Program Development, we are confident that our music will help you reach more people and get more people moving!

INSTRUCTOR TRAINING

Our trainings, whether live or online, are designed to give you all the tools you need to deliver a safe, effective, and inspiring group fitness experience. With programs built on industry’s most comprehensive program development process, each training will cover everything you need to know about the program design, program brand architecture, program personality, the pre-programmed options and modifications, and the best strategies for coaching and connecting.

You do not need to have experience teaching in order to attend a MOSSA Training.

INSTRUCTOR EDUCATION

Each quarter we provide instructors with education to help keep them up to date on the latest in exercise science, the evolution of our program brands, and new strategies for coaching and connecting with members … all designed to get more people moving!

ACCESS TO OUR FULL LIBRARY

Instructors will receive access to our full library of education videos via MOSSA GO, our digital platform. Topics range from advanced coaching techniques, program brand updates, exercise science hot-topics, and more.

ASSESSMENT FAQ

HOW LONG AFTER TRAINING DO I HAVE TO SUBMIT MY VIDEO FOR ASSESSMENT?

Assessment videos are due 90 days after completion of training (in person and online).

CAN I STILL TEACH IF MY 90-DAY ASSESSMENT DUE DATE HAS PASSED?

If you have passed your 90-day due date, you are not allowed to teach a class on your facility’s schedule and you will no longer be on Autoship. We realize that you have to teach to participants for your assessment video, so, in this situation and with your facility’s permission, you can gather some participants during an unscheduled time in the group fitness room at your facility to film your assessment video. Once you pass assessment, you will be back on Autoship and can teach on your facility’s schedule.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DO NOT PASS ASSESSMENT?

If you do not pass your first assessment (1st submission), you will receive a RESUBMIT. This means you are not eligible to teach the program at your facility until you pass your assessment video. You have 30 days from the date of receiving your 1st submission results within which to resubmit a video for assessment at no charge (2nd submission). If you do not pass assessment again, you can resubmit one more video for a fee of $50 USD (3rd submission). After this, you will be required to repeat training in person, at half price, before you can submit any additional video assessments.

FOR 3D30, WHAT HAPPENS IF I ONLY PASS THE TRAINING SERIES OR THE 3D30 WORKOUT, BUT NOT BOTH?

If you only PASS one of the video assessments for 3D30, you will only have to resubmit a video of what you did not PASS (either the Training Series or the 3D30 workout).

HOW DO I SUBMIT MY VIDEO FOR ASSESSMENT?

All details for video assessment submission are here.

CAN I START TEACHING ON MY FACILITY’S SCHEDULE BEFORE I PASS ASSESSMENT?

Yes. With the approval of your Group Fitness Manager (or other facility management), you can start teaching on the schedule once you have completed training for all programs with the exception of 3D30 and MOVE30. We strongly recommend that you take adequate time to prepare and practice prior to teaching to members; generally, this would be no less than two to three weeks after training. For 3D30 and MOVE30, you have pass assessment prior to teaching to members.

CAN I USE ANY NOTES WHEN TEACHING?

No. You cannot use any form of notes when teaching. If you are using notes, your video will not be accepted, and you will have to refilm.

CAN I USE ANY RELEASE FOR MY VIDEO ASSESSMENT?

You can use your training release or +/- one release (i.e.  If you completed your training with the JAN23 release, you could submit your video for assessment with the OCT22, JAN23 or APR23 release) if you have purchased the release. If you have not purchased the release, your video will not be accepted, and you will have to refilm.

HOW CAN I SUBMIT MY VIDEO FOR ASSESSMENT?

A link to your video can be submitted here. Note that submission is a two-step process. First, complete and submit the form with your instructor information. Second, submit video file allowing sufficient time for file to completely upload.

Please use the following naming protocol for your video file when uploading: Program Name_Release Season_First Name_Last Name.extension (e.g., Group Power_ JUL22_ Joe Smith.mov).

.

CAN I USE THE BONUS TRACKS FOR MY VIDEO ASSESSMENT?

Yes. Bonus tracks can be used to replace the tracks in the main body of the release for assessment.

.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I CANNOT COMPLETE MY ASSESSMENT VIDEO IN 90 DAYS?

You can request an extension here.

CAN I TEACH DIRECTLY TO THE VIDEO CAMERA FOR MY VIDEO ASSESSMENT?

No. You must teach in a live teaching environment with at least five participants (four for 3D30 or MOVE30).

SHOULD I SUBMIT AN ASSESSMENT VIDEO FOR GROUP RIDE, R30, OR BOTH?

You can choose to submit a video for either Group Ride or R30. If you submit a video for Group Ride and PASS, you will be able to be on Autoship and teach both Group Ride and R30. If you only submit a video for R30 and PASS, you will only be able to be on Autoship and teach R30. If, at a later time, you’d like to teach Group Ride, you will have to submit a Group Ride video at no charge and PASS.

IF I’M SUBMITTING VIDEO ASSESSMENTS FOR BOTH 3D30 AND MOVE30, WILL I HAVE TO DO THE ONLINE EDUCATION TWO TIMES?

No. You only have to do the online education once.

HOW DO I PASS VIDEO ASSESSMENT?

All details for passing video assessment are here.

DOES THE CLASS THAT I TEACH FOR ASSESSMENT HAVE TO BE A CURRENTLY SCHEDULED CLASS?

No. With the permission of your facility, you can teach at any time when the group fitness room is available.

DO I HAVE TO USE A MICROPHONE WHEN TEACHING?

While a microphone is not required, it is strongly recommended that you use one as we need to clearly hear both the music and your voice in your video.

SHOULD I WATCH MY VIDEO BEFORE SUBMITTING IT?

The Assessment Team needs to clearly hear both you and the music as well as clearly see the execution of all movements. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to watch and listen to your video in its entirety before submitting. If we are unable to clearly hear you and the music or clearly see you and your movements, or if you or your movements are cut off, your video might not be accepted, and you would have to refilm.

.

CAN I JUST SUBMIT A PORTION OF THE WORKOUT FOR ASSESSMENT?

No. You must submit the entire workout; the video must be from one teaching experience.

WHO DO I CONTACT IF I HAVE MORE QUESTIONS ABOUT ASSESSMENT?

You can contact the Assessment Team at assessment@mossa.net.

AUTOSHIP FAQ

HOW DO I UPDATE MY AUTOSHIP INFORMATION FOR MOSSA GO?

You can update your Autoship Account information here.

IF I GO OFF AUTOSHIP FOR A PROGRAM WILL I STILL HAVE ACCESS TO RELEASES I PURCHASED?

If you are no longer on Autoship, you will not be able to access the program resources in your MOSSA GO app. When you re-enroll in Autoship and become active for that program again, the releases that were previously available to you will be on MOSSA GO.

IF I AM ONLY SUBBING, DO I STILL NEED TO BE ON AUTOSHIP?

Yes. All instructors teaching MOSSA programs are required to be enrolled in Autoship for the programs they are teaching, even subbing.

AM I ABLE TO ORDER BACK RELEASES?

Yes. For the programs on which you are on Autoship, you can order back releases. APR20 releases and prior (if available) are shipped as a kit with the CD, DVD, and program notes. Resources for the JUL20 and subsequent releases are delivered on MOSSA GO.

ARE RELEASES RETURNABLE/REFUNDABLE?

No, all releases are final sale, whether they’re purchased through Autoship or the MOSSA Store.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE RELEASES?

New workouts for each MOSSA program are released four times per year: January, April, July, and October. Instructors are billed approximately one month prior to a release date. Instructors are given access to their release(s) when they are billed. Instructors are notified via email prior to billing.

I JUST COMPLETED TRAINING. WILL I RECEIVE THE NEWEST RELEASE VIA AUTOSHIP?

When you registered for training, you also enrolled in Autoship. If you are within your 90-day grace period for video assessment after training (in person or online), you will receive the newest release as long as you completed training prior to Autoship billing.

No, MOSSA does not accept orders via telephone or email. You must order releases through the MOSSA Store.

MOSSA MUSIC FAQ

HOW DO I GET MY MUSIC?

You will receive a separate email from MOSSA to get an access code to download your music from mossamusic.net. You will be able to upload your music into iTunes or Google Play Music.

HOW DO I SUBMIT A SONG REQUEST - NAME THAT TUNE?

Music drives the experience for all of our programs – we’d love your input! You can submit a song request to our Program Development Team through our Name That Tune form.

I LOST MY MUSIC CODE OR IT’S NOT WORKING, HOW DO I GET ANOTHER ONE?

Send an email to mossagosupport@mossa.net to get your code reset.

CEC’S FAQ

DO I RECEIVE CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT (CECS) FOR COMPLETING A MOSSA TRAINING?

Our trainings are eligible for CECs. You can petition your organization (ACE, AFAA, canfitpro, etc.) for CECs/CEUs after successfully completing a Live or Online MOSSA Training. Click here to request the program petition package from MOSSA: https://fs7.formsite.com/bodytrainingsystems/snmx2co30x/index

WILL I HAVE TO PAY FOR MY CECS/CEUS?

Depending on the organization, you may have to pay a fee to submit your petition. That’s up to the certifying body. To help offset this cost for you, we’ll provide you with a $50 MOSSA Store gift card when you submit. Just send a copy of your receipt to training@mossa.net and we’ll get the digital gift card to you.

HOW DO I PETITION MY ORGANIZATION?

Visit the organization’s website for their requirements. You’ll likely need two things from MOSSA, both sent by email after training: your training Certificate of Completion and MOSSA’s Petition Package.

MOSSA GO FAQ

HOW DO I GET MY MOSSA GO LOGIN?

A welcome email will be sent with your username and password to the email address that MOSSA has on file. Be sure to check your spam/junk folder for the email. If you would like to change the email address MOSSA has on file, fill out the account update form on our website.

If you have not received the welcome email, go to MOSSA GO by browser to establish your account by following these steps:

  1. Go to: https://mossago.net
  2. Click Forgot Password
  3. Use the email you have on file with MOSSA
  4. If you are unsure of the email you have with MOSSA, email mossagosupport@mossa.net
HOW MUCH SPACE DO I NEED ON MY SMARTPHONE TO USE THE APP?

The mobile app takes up approximately 45 MB of space. When you download a release to the MOSSA GO app on your device, one 60-minute workout (program notes, music, and workout video) takes up approximately 3 GB of space. The music alone could take up to 1 GB.

IS THE MOSSA GO APP AVAILABLE ON ROKU OR AMAZON FIRESTICK?

The app is not available, but you can still cast/mirror MOSSA GO from a compatible device (phone, tablet, computer) to your Roku, Amazon Firestick, or Smart TV.

You have several options for casting to your TV. See this document for step-by-step instructions, including casting using Airplay/Cast/Screen Mirror to a Roku stick or Roku-enabled TV and Screen Mirroring to an Amazon Firestick-connected TV.

Related: if you have an internet-enabled Smart TV or AppleTV, you can access MOSSA GO by going to mossago.net in your TV’s browser.

WHAT WEB BROWSER DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR VIEWING MOSSA GO?

Firefox, Chrome, or Safari. Please make sure that your available browser is updated to the latest version for the best results.

CAN I JUST STREAM THE VIDEO OR MUSIC OR DO I NEED TO DOWNLOAD IT TO MY DEVICE?

For learning, downloading isn’t essential, but MOSSA highly recommends that you download music to the app to avoid disruption in playback due to poor Wi-Fi or cellular service.

CAN I BURN THE WORKOUTS ONTO A CD/DVD?

No, you will not be able to burn media of the workouts. This violates the training agreement and music licensing rights that allow us to provide the motivating, industry-leading music that you know and love.

SONGS AND VIDEOS SWITCH THE VIEW FROM PORTRAIT TO LANDSCAPE. IS THAT THE ONLY WAY TO VIEW/LISTEN?

Right now, yes. You’ll browse in portrait mode, but when you play a video or a song, the orientation defaults to landscape. That may change with future app updates.

CAN I VIEW THE PROGRAM NOTES WHILE ALSO WATCHING VIDEOS ON THE APP?

Currently, you have to do those tasks independently. You can play the video on one device and have the program notes open on another device. You can also print your program notes so you can watch the video on any device (browser, tablet, phone) and take notes on your printed copy.

WHAT IF THE APP IS DOWN AND I NEED TO TEACH?

Have a back-up! Here are two that we recommend:

  1. Have the music saved to your phone. Every quarter, we send music codes so you can download music from mossamusic.net and add to your device through a music service like iTunes, YouTube Music, Spotify, and more. Download your music for every program every quarter, and you’ll always be ready with a plan b.
    1. Reminder: Music codes are only available for download on a computer. You can then transfer the files to your music service of choice for play through mobile device or tablet.
  2. Use the browser on your device – not the app – to access your music through mossago.net.
IF I HAVE QUESTIONS REGARDING MOSSA GO, WHO SHOULD I EMAIL?

You can email mossagosupport@mossa.net.

HOW DO I ACCESS MOSSA GO?

You’ll need the app on a smartphone or tablet for teaching, but for learning and education, you can access MOSSA GO through any web browser. MOSSA GO can also be cast/mirrored to your Smart (internet-enabled) TV. Please note: MOSSA GO app is not supported by “vintage” Apple & Android devices. View a list of devices Apple classifies as “vintage” here.

WHAT ARE THE TECH REQUIREMENTS FOR MOSSA GO?

You can access MOSSA GO through a web browser, smartphone, or tablet using the MOSSA GO app. For the mobile app, we recommend iOS 12.4 or later and Android version 6. The app is unavailable by Roku or Amazon FireTV, but you can cast/mirror to these devices using a compatible device. See this document for step-by-step instructions.

IS MOSSA GO AVAILABLE ON MY SMART TV OR APPLE TV?

You can pull up MOSSA GO on your internet-enabled TV using its browser, but there is no TV app available. But that’s okay; all of your content – playlists, etc. – are in the browser version at mossago.net.

WILL MY OLDER DEVICE WORK WITH THE APP?

If you’re having trouble getting the MOSSA GO app to download, update, or operate consistently on your device, it may be due to the age of the device. App companies only update functionalities for devices that are three generations or newer, and generally consider a device to be “vintage” if it’s more than 5 years old. Options for older devices include not using the app and using a web browser instead and, of course, downloading music using music codes.

WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO PLAY MY MUSIC CONTINUOUSLY FOR TEACHING CLASS?

(Updated Oct. 2, 2024): Playlists are currently being troublesome in MOSSA GO, so we currently recommend not using Playlists. Instead, for OCT24, use CONTINUOUS PLAY MUSIC for each program. (Including 30- and 45-minute workouts where available.)

It’s a single music file for the entire workout, and it can be downloaded and played in offline mode – in the DOWNLOADS folder, not PLAYLISTS.

Follow these steps:

  • Open your launch release
  • Click on CONTINUOUS PLAY MUSIC in the music files (you’ll see them first)
  • Click the 3 dots in the upper right corner and choose DOWNLOAD
  • When you’re ready to teach, go to MORE on the bottom right corner
  • Click on DOWNLOADS and play from there in airplane mode

For programs that require pausing between tracks, like Power, you’ll be able to do so (and go back and forward by 10 seconds).

The other music option, as always, is to use the music on your device, downloaded with music codes, no app or WiFi needed.

WILL I NEED WI-FI AT MY FACILITY TO PLAY MY MUSIC WHILE TEACHING?

No, not while you’re teaching. While you can use Wi-Fi, we recommend downloading your playlists and putting your device in either Airplane Mode or Do Not Disturb to avoid disruptions. (Phone calls, texts, notifications, etc.).

CAN WE GET PHYSICAL/NON-DIGITAL RELEASES?

No, MOSSA GO is the only way for instructors to receive quarterly programming and education.

DOES THE APP ALLOW US TO DOWNLOAD MUSIC DIRECTLY TO OUR DEVICE TO PLAY ON ITUNES OR GOOGLE PLAY?

No. You will receive music codes to download music from mossamusic.net to play on iTunes or other music services.

I DIDN'T GET MY WELCOME EMAIL. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Make sure to check trash, spam, and or other inboxes, but if you still don’t see it, you can go to MOSSA GO by browser to establish your account simply by resetting your password.

  1. Go to: https://mossago.net
  2. Click Forgot Password
  3. Use the email you have on file with MOSSA
  4. If you are unsure of the email you have with MOSSA, contact mossagosupport@mossa.net

WHY ARE MY PROGRAM NOTES AND DOCUMENTS NOT DOWNLOADING?

When you try to access program notes on your computer, if you see a message that says “Preparing Download” but nothing comes up, your internet browser’s pop-up blocker may be preventing the document from opening. Check your browser’s settings to disable the pop-up blocker and access program notes and education documents.

WHAT IF THE APP IS BEING TROUBLESOME ANYTIME?

Here are a few troubleshooting tips:

  1. Check your device’s storage and clear space, if possible.
  2. Log out of the app and restart your device.
  3. Delete – uninstall – and reinstall the app and restart your device. This will ensure you have the most updated version of the app.
  4. Make sure your device has the most updated operating system available.
  5. Consider the age of your device. Is it more than three generations old? Most apps operate best on the most recent three generations.
  6. Reach out to mossagosupport@mossa.net.
