Our mission is to get more people moving, so we develop and distribute inclusive, innovative fitness programs for health clubs and home – 12 programs total, including strength training, cardio, dance, cycle, Loaded Movement, HIIT, mind-body, and more.
We partner with fitness facilities and YMCAs worldwide so they can deliver world-class group fitness workouts to suit every mover and attract and retain members.
We also deliver workouts and movement resources straight to the home user through MOSSA On Demand, an ever-expanding library of streaming workouts and education that’s available anytime, anywhere and to anyone.

We are coaches, trainers, developers, marketers, communicators, and presenters. We are students and educators. We are movement lovers and music groupies. We believe the best kind of exercise is the kind someone will do consistently, for life. For that reason – and countless others – we’re big believers in the power of together, the power of community. We know that people are more likely to get and stay moving if they are part of something.
In fitness facilities, group fitness drives engagement, builds connection, impacts retention, and drives membership. We help facilities leverage the power of group fitness, partnering with them every step of the way, from training instructors to designing the experience to providing ongoing sales and marketing support for the life of our partnership.
With MOSSA On Demand, we deliver to subscribers’ homes a feeling of together, because our workouts are filmed in a group environment so home movers can capitalize on the energy of a room of fellow exercisers. Hundreds of workouts, as well as recovery, reconditioning, and education, are a click away, to keep people conveniently moving wherever they are.

When you move to new MOSSA workouts each quarter, know that the movements and music were tested by 150+ instructors and thousands of participants around the world. Their feedback is our fine tuning, and the final products are workouts that make you move better, feel better, and live better in your everyday work and play.
The 70’s & 80’s
MOSSA’s journey began in the 1970s with the drive, passion, and spirit (not to mention frustration) of our leader, Rich Boggs. After 10 years of working for corporations including Proctor & Gamble and Bristol-Myers, Rich’s tremendous entrepreneurial spirit was too controlled, and his health and weight were out of control.
Rich made the decision to get moving! His desire for positive change led to the development of Sportslife: The Science of Good Health. This chain of seven full-service health clubs in the metro Atlanta area serviced over 45,000 members. The experience of owning and operating clubs for nearly 15 years provides a strong foundation for the success of the MOSSA professional group fitness programs and consumer home workouts today.
In the late 1980s, a new phenomenon was taking shape in the Sportslife clubs – step aerobics classes . . . on wooden benches! To capture this excitement and share it with the world, we developed The Original STEP and started The STEP Company. At that time, over 13 million people a week were part of the step fitness craze, and MOSSA introduced The STEP in over 25,000 clubs in the US and Canada and many more worldwide. The Original STEP is now a staple of the fitness industry, used by millions of participants each week.
In the late 90s, MOSSA was known as Body Training Systems, and we brought pre-choreographed programs to health clubs in the US and Canada. In 2005, MOSSA launched its own professionally developed programs, a comprehensive instructor training system, a sales and marketing system, and an extensive management system that includes software and resources to enable health clubs to maximize their group participation and be more profitable.
MOSSA’s goal is simple: to get more people moving. We accomplish this goal by partnering with top-quality health and fitness facilities, as well as international distributors around the world. Everything we do at MOSSA is grounded in our never-ending commitment to create the best group fitness programs and home workouts.
We believe that a great experience with an engaging instructor and an amazing playlist can help people find a certain level of fun in fitness. Through innovative programming and an inclusive mindset, we want to encourage more people to take care of themselves, by taking more time to move. We believe movement is medicine. It can reduce stress, relieve anxiety, improve cognitive function, boost your immune system, release feel-good endorphins, and ultimately, prepare you to move younger, longer. LET’S MOVE!
