Nearly 80% of the population does not get the recommended amount of exercise nor are they members of fitness facilities.
To reach more people we need to focus on intentionally interacting with members, work hard to have real conversations with new participants, re-think the group fitness space and use of mirrors, and question (and limit) the use of trackers and scoreboards. Maybe, as an industry, we should focus less on getting people fit and focus more on getting more people moving.
