SUMMARY:
Just about every facility we talk to needs to grow their instructor team. The instructor team drives the group fitness schedule. The schedule drives participation. And participation impacts membership and retention.
The challenge? Looking for instructors doesn’t work. And asking your current instructors to teach more often is not sustainable (nor ideal, for a few different reasons).
But, yes, you read that right; “Now Hiring Instructors” is the wrong approach. But let us clarify. The problem is, most “great instructors” already have a job, maybe with you, or at the competitor’s place down the road. So, unless you’re offering tremendous pay or benefits versus the other guy, you’re wasting your valuable recruitment efforts.
The solution? Attract, train, mentor, and develop new talent.
