Summary:
People can exercise anywhere. If exercise is just about looking after our physical selves, we can do it at home, outside, at the cheap competitor’s place… wherever! But physical fitness is only a portion of our overall health and wellness.
When we move with others in a physical task like group exercise, we experience a buzz, a connection – the psychological and emotional benefits of movement. It’s called “social motion” and it boosts not only our emotional response to a task, making it seem more enjoyable, but it actually improves our performance, giving us the power to literally lift more, jump higher, pedal harder… physical feats that will earn results. Results that earn retention.
In a new webcast, and in anticipation of a new year in which people are shaking off inactivity and isolation hangovers, we’ll help you present them with the long-term solution of group fitness. And we’ll reinforce research on the power of moving together, and doing it in synchrony, the missing ingredient in too many exercisers’ lonely workouts.
