Become An Instructor - Getting Started
STEP 1 :: Find a MOSSA Licensed Facility in Your Area.
Use our Program Locator to search for a current MOSSA licensed facility in your area. In order to attend Training, you need to be associated with a licensed facility. ** The owner or group exercise director of a licensed MOSSA facility will need to approve you in order to attend the Training.**
STEP 2 :: Register Online for a MOSSA Training.
Our training dates are listed on the Training Calendar. Once you have selected a Training to attend, register online or call 800.729.7837 ext. 241. or ext 247.
STEP 3 :: Receive Confirmation of Approval.
After you have submitted your registration online, we will contact the facility’s owner and/or group exercise director to receive approval for you to attend the Training. An approval must occur prior to attending the Training. This process can take 3 to 5 business days to receive your confirmation for the Training. To expedite this process, please have your group exercise director contact our Training Department to confirm your association with the facility - email@example.com
*Effective for trainings beginning January 1, 2018, the cost of training includes the Assessment Fee.
Active Together, Cardio Step Together, Defend Together & Groove Together (2-day trainings)
Core Focus Together (1-day training)
Strength Train Together & Balance & Flex Together (3-day trainings)
Cycle Together + Cycle 30 Together (2-day training includes both programs)
Conditioning Together + Move Together Workout (2-day training)
Cancellation Policy: Your refund request must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by 5pm EST ten (10) business days prior to the Training date to receive a refund less an administration fee of $50. Cancellations within ten business days of the Training or no-shows are non-refundable.
What To Know Prior To Training

Read this information carefully and bring it with you to the Training completely filled out. Please recognize that MOSSA Training is a strenuous workout and is only appropriate for individuals in good physical and mental health.
Arrive on time for the Training.
If you arrive after the Trainer-led workout has begun, you will not be permitted into the Training. No exceptions!
Participate 100% in the Training.
You are required to participate in 100% of the Training. This means completing the allotted days and hours of the Training and participating in all aspects of the Training. If you have medical conditions, including pregnancy, that concern you, you must check with your doctor prior to the Training to confirm your ability to participate.
Bring a music player.
During Trainings, you will receive program resources, which include an audio CD. It is important that you have a way to listen to the music on this CD over the course of the Training (e.g. With an MP3 player, portable CD player, boom box, portable DVD player, or laptop computer – all with headphones.) If you are using an MP3 player, be sure to have a way to import the music for you. If you are unable to import the music on day one, instead of purchasing a CD player, try to borrow one for the weekend. Another option would be to bring a headphone splitter and share with a teammate until you are able to import.
Bring a recording device (Conditioning Together Training only)
A video recording device with enough memory to video 15 minutes of footage (approx. 2GB). A smartphone, tablet, or video camera will do the trick. A smartphone app with the ability to scan QR codes (for example, RedLaser).
Bring a pen or pencil.
Your Trainer will be saying some brilliant things that you’ll want to jot down in your Instructor Workbook. So, be prepared!
Traveling? A DVD player will help.
You will receive a DVD of the entire class you are training to teach. If you are staying at a hotel, you might enjoy the convenience of bringing a DVD player to help you practice. If you are unable to bring a DVD player, don’t worry - there will be one at the facility.
An email address is required.
The vast majority of our communication, such as information on new apparel items in the MOSSA Store, events, program releases, and updated educational resources, will be shared – change to communicated with each instructor via email.
A change of clothes and appropriate shoes required.
You will be moving, sweating, sitting, and standing. You will be hot, you will be cold! We suggest dressing in layers, since room temperatures may be out of the Trainer's control during Training. Don’t forget to have deodorant and breath mints on hand too.
Bring a towel or two.
Like we said, you will be sweating!
Bring plenty of food and snacks.
Maybe even a special treat for the Trainer. He or she will be very happy!
Plan on homework.
You will be assigned homework. We suggest leaving the evenings free.
What is Expected After Training?
Within 90 days of completing your Initial Training you are required to submit a video of you teaching the program in a live class setting to receive an Assessment Certificate of Completion. Learn more about Assessment.
Conditioning Together: Within 6 weeks of completing your Initial Conditioning Together Training you are required to submit a video of you teaching a Conditioning Together Workout in a live Workout setting + Conditioning Together Training Series to receive your certificate to become a Conditioning Together Coach.
